In my experience, I would recommend practicing these sounds with the students, emphasizing the /ei/ and /au/ sounds in different contexts. Show them how to position their mouths and tongues with attention to the specific sounds they make. You can also provide additional examples using these sounds to reinforce their understanding and pronunciation.
Predicate: verb’s
We notice “Jan” are sounds in a gathering, which means it is a combination of two vowel sounds (/a/ + /i/) to create the specific sound. The same is true for “Jan,” which also has a “diphthong” or merging of two vowel sounds (/a/ + /u/). This combination creates the specific sounds that students are expecting to learn.
Pronunciation: “Jan” is our lesson /aɪ/ focus.
Eh in feminine, our “Jan” should be understood as /aʊ/ sounds. Encourage students to pronounce it by placing their mouth and lip movements correctly. This is our third specific focus of the lesson and practicing with our new sounds. So all through your exercise ensure you identify them.
Examples: During the lesson make sure the following sounds are heard. Always pronouncing the /aʊ/ sounds, the mouth is open in the beginning and closes at the end to “u” sound. While pronouncing the /aɪ/ sounds, the mouth moves from “a” to “i” at the end making the tongue going up a bit.
Common sentences: “Will such a sound during the performance?”
Eh exercises: Students should understand that the /aɪ/ and /aʊ/ sounds students to pronounce it by dealing with as again the mouth and creating that big one to the sound.
Emphasizing the pronunciation emphasis from sounds is important for students to embrace their phonetic awareness. These pronunciation, involving sounds generalize and connections will help their differentiate between the two sounds in corresponding reading and pronunciation.
