Verse 128: لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ Laqad jā’akum rasūlun min anfusikum ‘azīzun ‘alayhi mā ‘anittum harīsun ‘alaykum bil-mu’minīna ra’ūfun rahīm

Verse 129: فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ Fa-in tawallaw fa-qul hasbiya’llāhu lā ilāha illā huwa ‘alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbu’l-‘arshi’l-‘azīm

English Translation

Verse 128: “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.”

Verse 129: “But if they turn away, then say, ‘Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.'”

Simple Translation for Children

Verse 128:

• Allah sent you a special messenger (Prophet Muhammad)
• He is one of your own people
