Topic: Mustahabbatus-Salah

(Meritorious Parts of Prayer)

What is Mustahabbat?

Mustahabbat are extra good actions in prayer that:

  • Make Allah very happy with us
  • Give us more rewards
  • Make our prayer more beautiful
  • Are NOT required but very good to do

 

Examples of Mustahabbat in Prayer

  1. Making Du’a (asking Allah for things)
  2. Saying extra Dhikr (remembering Allah)
  3. Reading longer surahs when you have time
  4. Sitting quietly before starting prayer to focus
  5. Making Istighfar (asking for forgiveness)
  6. Saying “Ameen” loudly after Fatihah
  7. Looking at the place of Sujud (where you prostrate)

 

Steps to Perform Mustahabbat

Before Prayer:

  1. Clean yourself properly
  2. Wear clean, nice clothes
  3. Face Qiblah calmly
  4. Make intention in your heart

During Prayer:

  1. Focus your mind on Allah
  2. Recite slowly and clearly
  3. Make extra Du’a in Sujud
  4. Stay calm and peaceful

After Prayer:

  1. Say Dhikr (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar)
  2. Make Du’a for yourself and others
  3. Ask Allah for forgiveness

 

Remember:

  • These are EXTRA good deeds
  • You get more rewards for doing them
  • Don’t worry if you forget them
  • Start with one or two at a time
