Listen as your teacher reads this story:

During the last school holiday, Fatima went to visit her grandmother in the village. She helped her grandmother feed the chickens and water the plants in the garden. In the evenings, grandmother told her interesting stories about the old days. Fatima also played with her cousins who lived nearby. They climbed trees, picked mangoes, and swam in the river. On Sundays, they all went to church together. Fatima was sad when the holiday ended because she had enjoyed every moment.

Answer these questions orally:

  1. Where did Fatima go during the holiday?
  2. What did she do to help her grandmother?
  3. What did grandmother tell her in the evenings?
  4. Name two things Fatima did with her cousins.
  5. How did Fatima feel when the holiday ended?
  6. Why was she sad to leave?
