 PHONICS PRONUNCIATION OF MULTI-SYLLABIC WORDS

Breaking words into parts:

Two syllables:

  • pen-cil (PEN-CIL)

  • win-dow (WIN-DOW)

  • pic-ture (PIC-TURE)
  • nap-kin (NAP-KIN)

Three syllables:

  • um-brel-la (UM-BREL-LA)

  • ba-na-na (BA-NA-NA)

  • com-pu-ter (COM-PU-TER)

  • tel-e-phone (TEL-E-PHONE)

Practice reading slowly:

  1. The computer is on the table
  2. My umbrella is very colorful
  3. Put the banana in the picture
