Different Forms of Energy:

  1. Light Energy:

  • Sources: Sun, bulbs, candles, fire, flashlight
  • What it does: Helps us see things
  • Examples: Sunlight brightens the day, lamp lights our room
  1. Heat Energy:

  • Sources: Sun, fire, stove, iron, heater
  • What it does: Makes things warm or hot
  • Examples: Sun warms us, fire cooks food
  1. Sound Energy:

  1. Movement Energy (Mechanical):

  • Sources: Moving cars, running people, flowing water
  • What it does: Makes things move
  • Examples: Car moves on road, wind turns windmill
  1. Electrical Energy:

  • Sources: Batteries, power stations, generators
  • What it does: Powers machines and lights
  • Examples: Lights in house, television, phone

Where Energy Comes From:

  • Sun: Biggest source of energy on Earth
  • Food: Gives us energy to move and grow
  • Batteries: Store electrical energy
  • Fuel: Petrol, gas, wood provide energy

Uses of Energy to Man:

In the Home:

  • Cooking: Heat energy cooks our food
  • Lighting: Light energy helps us see at night
  • Entertainment: Electrical energy powers TV, radio
  • Cleaning: Energy powers washing machines

For Transportation:

  • Cars: Use fuel energy to move
  • Bicycles: Use our body energy
  • Boats: Use wind energy or fuel energy
  • Planes: Use fuel energy to fly

For Work:

  • Machines: Use electrical or fuel energy
  • Tools: Help us work using energy
  • Computers: Use electrical energy
  • Factories: Use various forms of energy

For Communication:

  • Phones: Use electrical energy
  • Radio: Uses electrical energy for sound
  • Internet: Uses electrical energy

Energy in Our Body:

  • Food energy: Gives us strength to move
  • Rest: Helps us save energy
  • Exercise: Uses our body’s energy
  • Sleep: Helps us get energy back

Taking Care of Energy:

  • Don’t waste electricity (turn off lights)
  • Eat good food for body energy
  • Use energy wisely
  • Find new sources of energy
