  • Explain civic education and its importance
  • Identify the advantages of civic education

Lesson Content:

What is Civic Education? Civic education is learning about how to be a good citizen in our community and country. It teaches us how to live peacefully with others and follow the rules.

Topics from Last Term (Revision):

  • Being respectful to elders
  • Helping others in our community
  • Following school rules
  • Being honest and truthful
  • Taking care of our environment

Why Civic Education is Important:

  1. It teaches us good behavior
  2. It helps us know our rights and duties
  3. It makes us better citizens
  4. It helps us live peacefully with others
  5. It teaches us to respect our leaders and laws

Advantages of Civic Education:

  • We learn to be responsible
  • We become good children and students
  • We know how to help our community
  • We learn to solve problems peacefully
  • We become better Nigerians

Class Activity:

Let pupils share what they remember from last term and discuss why it’s good to learn about being good citizens.
