Introduction

Jesus loved to teach people using special stories called parables. These stories helped people understand important truths about God’s Kingdom.

Lesson Content

What are Parables?

• Parables are simple stories that teach us important lessons
• Jesus used everyday things in His stories (like seeds, sheep, coins)
• Each parable has a special meaning about God or His Kingdom
• Parables help us understand difficult truths in easy ways

Types of Parables:

1. Kingdom Parables – About God’s Kingdom and how to enter it
2. Growth Parables – About how faith grows
3. Lost and Found Parables – About God’s love for lost people
4. Forgiveness Parables – About forgiving others
5. Service Parables – About serving God and others

What is the Kingdom of God?

• The Kingdom of God is where God rules as King
• It’s where people love and obey God
• It includes all people who believe in Jesus
• One day, Jesus will come back and His Kingdom will be perfect on earth

Parables About the Kingdom of God:

1. The Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31-32)

• A man planted a tiny mustard seed
• It grew into a big tree
• Birds came and made nests in its branches
• Lesson: God’s Kingdom starts small but grows very big

2. The Parable of the Hidden Treasure (Matthew 13:44)

• A man found treasure hidden in a field
• He was so happy he sold everything he had
• He bought the field to get the treasure
• Lesson: God’s Kingdom is so valuable, it’s worth everything

3. The Parable of the Pearl (Matthew 13:45-46)

• A merchant was looking for beautiful pearls
• He found one very expensive, perfect pearl
• He sold everything to buy that one pearl
• Lesson: God’s Kingdom is the most precious thing we can have

5. The Parable of the Growing Seed (Mark 4:26-29)

• A farmer planted seeds and went to sleep
• The seeds grew by themselves while he slept
• First the blade, then the grain, then the full harvest
• Lesson: God’s Kingdom grows by itself through God’s power
