LESSON CONTENT

More Things to Respect in Nigeria

There are other important things that belong to all Nigerians.

We must take care of them and respect them.

Important Things to Respect:

1. THE CONSTITUTION

• Big book with rules for Nigeria
• Shows how our country should be run
• All leaders must follow these rules
• Helps keep Nigeria peaceful

2. NATIONAL FLAG

• Our Green, White, Green flag
• Symbol of our country Nigeria
• We see it at schools and government places
• We must never tear or step on it

3. NIGERIA CURRENCY (MONEY)

• Our Naira notes and Kobo coins
• Money we use to buy things in Nigeria
• Has pictures of important Nigerian people
• We should not tear or write on our money

4. THE MACE

• Special golden stick used in National Assembly
• Symbol of government power
• Senators need it before they can make laws
• Very important for our government

How to Respect These Things:

The Constitution:

• Follow the rules it contains
• Let adults teach us about it

National Flag:

• Stand when it is raised
• Keep it clean and safe

Nigeria Currency:

• Handle money carefully
• Don’t tear or dirty it
• Use it properly when buying things

The Mace:

• Know it is very important
• Understand it helps make laws

Why These Things Are Important:

• They belong to all Nigerians
• They help our country work well
• They show we are proud Nigerians
• They unite us as one people
