CARE OF THE NAILS:

Why We Keep Nails Clean:

  • Dirty nails have germs that can make us sick
  • Long nails can scratch and hurt others
  • Clean nails look nice and neat
  • Short nails are easier to keep clean

How to Care for Nails:

  1. Wash Daily: Wash hands and scrub under nails with soap
  2. Cut Regularly: Ask adults to cut nails when they get long
  3. Keep Short: Nails should not be longer than fingertips
  4. No Biting: Do not bite or chew nails
  5. Use Brush: Use soft brush to clean under nails
  6. Dry Well: Dry hands and nails completely after washing

Nail Care Rules:

  • Cut nails straight across, not round
  • File rough edges gently
  • Do not cut too short (it can hurt)
  • Keep nail tools clean
  • Tell parents if nails hurt or look strange

  2. What should we use to clean under our nails?
  3. How should we dry our hair after washing?
  4. Why should we keep our nails short?
  5. What should we do with long hair during sports?

Practical Exercise:

Show and Tell – Good Hygiene Habits: Each child shows proper way to:
