Entry Behaviour:

Pupils have previously learned about the Holy Spirit in Primary 4 and can recall some of its fruits (e.g., love, joy, peace).

Set Induction (Introduction):

The teacher tells a short story:

“Tolu always obeyed the Holy Spirit’s voice by being kind and honest. One day, she found a lost wallet and returned it. Later, someone rewarded her honesty with a scholarship. Just like Tolu, God rewards His children when they follow the Holy Spirit.”

Lesson Development:

Step 1: Explanation of Reward

What is a Reward?

• A reward is something good that you receive for doing what is right or pleasing to God.
• Examples: gifts, blessings, praise, success, answered prayers.

Teacher-Pupil Activity: Teacher asks, “Have you ever been rewarded for doing something good?”

Step 2: What It Means to Walk in the Holy Spirit

Walking in the Holy Spirit means:

• Living your life in obedience to God’s guidance.
• It involves showing love, kindness, patience, and self-control.

Bible Reading: Galatians 5:16–26

Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Step 3: Rewards of Walking in the Holy Spirit

Spiritual Rewards:

• Inner peace and joy
• God’s protection and favour
• Blessings and spiritual growth
• Positive relationships
• Eternal life

Step 4: Biblical and Life Examples

Biblical Examples:

1. Joseph: Obeyed God, and became a ruler in Egypt (Genesis 41:39–44).
2. Paul: Walked in the Spirit, preached the gospel, and was blessed with spiritual gifts.

Modern example: A child who obeys God and is rewarded with success in school and good friendships.
