CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

MERCY

God’s will cannot see evil or listen to evil nor can He stand it, being Holy and also be just, so God had power to punish us for our evil doings during our life on earth. Therefore, mercy means forgiven someone whom they have done something wrong to us.

GOD’S MERCY ON US – Matthew 6:9, 14-22-25

God is loving just and merciful; His forgive many of our wrong doing even before we ask for forgiveness. Jesus taught us many parables about how God shows mercy on everyone of us.

THE STORY OF A PRODIGAL SON – Luke 15:11-32

In the story, a father had two sons, a younger and an elder. The younger son asks the father for his inheritance as his father grants his son’s request. However, he left and wasted his fortune extravagantly accounting.

The younger son tries to return home humbly – helpless and intends to beg his father to accept him back as a servant. To the son’s surprise, he is not punished by his father as he thought he would be, but welcomed with joy. To celebrate his son’s return, the father threw a party.

The elder son was not excited about the party, because his younger brother has wasted all the wealth that belongs to the family. However, the father explained to him that one should not ostracized the return of the prodigal son, they were lost, and is now found.

To achieve the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. He introduces and begins; the teacher explains the previous lesson based on this, the teacher asks the pupil some questions:

2. Explains what mercy is 
3. Presentation about mercy of God to us
