What is Marriage?

Marriage is when two adults who love each other decide to become a family. They make promises to take care of each other forever!

Getting Married 💑

Before Marriage

  • Two people meet and become friends
  • They fall in love
  • They decide they want to be together always
  • The man asks the woman to marry him (proposal)

The Wedding Day 👰🤵

  • A special ceremony where they get married
  • Family and friends come to celebrate
  • They exchange rings
  • They promise to love and care for each other
  • Everyone is happy and celebrates!

After Marriage

  • The man becomes a husband
  • The woman becomes a wife
  • They live together in their home
  • They share everything
  • They may have children and become parents

Types of Marriage Ceremonies

  • Church Wedding: In a church with prayers

  • Traditional Wedding: Following cultural customs

  • Court Wedding: At the marriage registry

  • Some families do all three!

What Makes a Good Marriage?
