LESSON CONTENT

Sources of Water

Water comes from different places. These places are called sources of water.

Sources of water include:

1. Natural Sources

• Rivers and streams
• Lakes and ponds
• Rain from the sky
• Wells (deep holes in the ground)

2. Man-made Sources

• Taps in our homes

• Water tanks

• Dams

Uses of Water

We use water for many things:

1. For Our Body

• Drinking to stop thirst
• Bathing our body
• Brushing our teeth
• Washing our hands

2. At Home

• Cooking food
• Washing clothes
• Cleaning the house
• Watering plants

3. Other Uses

• Swimming and playing
• Giving animals to drink
• Putting out fire

Water is very important for life. We cannot live without water.
