Today’s topic is Saraad al-Qari’ah (The Striking Calamity) Chapter 101 verses 1-11.

In this chapter, Almighty Allah tells us about the Day of Judgment. He tells us that on this day, all deeds and memorize the Audio text of it. It is important to ask the words correctly like that. Saraad Qari’ah has been described as a day of justice, so it refers in the commentary.

“Qari’ah” or “The Striking Calamity” is describes a day of judgment when people will stand for accountability of their deeds.

The purpose of this revelation is to remind us about the Day of Judgment and to encourage us to do good deeds and avoid bad ones. If someone is determined that our actions have consequences, and for everyone, that will do the good deed than there will be good deeds too if one does not have good reward.

For example, imagine if you help your friend when they’re in need, then a good deed. But if you hurt someone by purpose, then you should call them properly names or be hurt by yourself of our actions and deeds.

So by telling, understanding, and reflecting on this chapter, we can learn to do better individuals and prepare ourselves for the Day of Judgment. It helps us to guide our good and everything more clear and better for everyone.

Audio text of Saraad Qari’ah, Chapter 101 verses 1-11:

الْقَارِعَةُ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ

The translation of Saraad Qari’ah (Chapter 101 verses 1-11) is as follows:

  1. The Striking Calamity!
  2. What is the Striking Calamity?
  3. And what can make you know what the Striking Calamity is?
  4. It is the Day when people will be like scattered moths,
  5. And the mountains will be like carded wool.
  6. Then whoever’s scales are heavy [with good deeds],
  7. He will be in a pleasant life.
  8. But whoever’s scales are light,
  9. His refuge will be an abyss.
  10. And what can make you know what that is?
  11. It is a Fire, intensely hot.
