Types of Pollution (Review)

Air Pollution:

  • Vehicle smoke from cars and buses

  • Factory emissions with harmful chemicals

  • Burning waste creating toxic fumes

  • Dust from construction sites

Water Pollution:

  • Sewage from toilets and drains

  • Industrial waste dumped in rivers

  • Plastic bottles thrown in water bodies

  • Chemical runoff from farms

Land Pollution:

  • Litter scattered everywhere
  • Non-biodegradable waste like plastic bags

  • Food waste rotting in wrong places

  • Chemical spills poisoning soil

Noise Pollution:

  • Loud music and honking cars
  • Construction machinery making noise
  • Generator sounds at night
  • Shouting and loud conversations

Prevention of Pollution

Preventing Air Pollution:

  • Walk or cycle instead of using cars
  • Turn off engines when parked
  • Plant more trees to clean air
  • Use fans instead of air conditioners when possible

Preventing Water Pollution:

  • Don’t throw trash in rivers or streams
  • Use toilets properly – don’t waste water
  • Dispose chemicals in proper containers
  • Clean up spills immediately

Preventing Land Pollution:

  • Put trash in dustbins always
  • Recycle bottles, cans, and paper
  • Compost food waste to make fertilizer
  • Use cloth bags instead of plastic bags

Preventing Noise Pollution:

  • Keep music volume low especially at night
  • Don’t shout unnecessarily
  • Use vehicles quietly – no loud honking
  • Plant trees around houses to absorb sound
