Introduction

• Islamic greeting: “Assalamu Alaikum”
• Ask pupils: “Who remembers Prophet Ibrahim from last week?”
• Tell pupils that today we will learn about Ibrahim’s son
• Explain that Ismail was also a great Prophet
• Show picture of the Ka’bah and tell pupils Ismail helped build it

Who Was Prophet Ismāil (AS)?

About Prophet Ismāil:

• Prophet Ismāil was the son of Prophet Ibrahim
• His mother was Hajar (Hagar)
• He was born when Ibrahim was very old
• Allah made him a Prophet like his father
• He is the ancestor of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
• All Arabs trace their lineage back to Ismāil

Early Life with His Father Ibrahim

The Journey to Makkah:

• When Ismāil was a baby, Allah commanded Ibrahim to take Hajar and baby Ismāil to a desert place
• This place is now called Makkah in Saudi Arabia
• At that time, it was empty with no people, no trees, and no water
• Ibrahim left them there with only some dates and water
• Hajar asked: “Are you leaving us here by Allah’s command?” Ibrahim nodded and left

The Miracle of Zamzam Water:

• Soon their water and food finished
• Baby Ismāil was very thirsty and crying
• Hajar ran between two hills (Safa and Marwah) looking for help
• She ran seven times between these hills
• Suddenly, water sprang from the ground near Ismāil’s feet
• This water is called Zamzam, and it still flows today
• A tribe called Jurhum came and settled there

Growing Up in Makkah

Ismāil’s Childhood:

• Ismāil grew up speaking Arabic with the Jurhum tribe
• He learned many skills like archery and animal care
• He was known for being truthful and keeping promises
• He was very obedient to his parents
• Allah blessed him with wisdom from a young age

Reunion with His Father:

• When Ismāil became a young man, Ibrahim came to visit
• Father and son were very happy to meet again
• Ibrahim had grown very old, but Allah kept him strong
• They spent time together talking about Allah
• Ibrahim taught Ismāil more about Islam

The Great Test of Obedience

Ibrahim’s Dream:

• Allah tested Ibrahim by showing him a dream
• In the dream, Allah asked Ibrahim to sacrifice his beloved son
• Ibrahim told Ismāil about this dream
• This was a very difficult test for both father and son

Ismāil’s Amazing Response:

• Ismāil said: “O my father, do what you are commanded”
• “You will find me, if Allah wills, among the patient ones”
• Ismāil was ready to give his life to obey Allah
• He showed no fear and trusted Allah completely
• Both father and son prepared for this great sacrifice

Allah’s Mercy:

• As Ibrahim was about to sacrifice Ismāil, Allah called out
• “O Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the vision”
• Allah sent down a ram (large sheep) to sacrifice instead
• This showed that Allah was only testing their obedience
• Both Ibrahim and Ismāil had passed the test perfectly

Building the Ka’bah

The Sacred House:

• Allah commanded Ibrahim and Ismāil to build the Ka’bah
• This would be the first house built for worshipping Allah
• Ibrahim and Ismāil worked together as a team
• Ismāil helped carry stones while Ibrahim built the walls
• They prayed to Allah while building: “Our Lord, accept this from us”

The Black Stone:

• Angel Jibreel brought a special black stone from Paradise
• Ibrahim placed this stone in one corner of the Ka’bah
• This Black Stone is still there today
• Muslims try to kiss or touch it when they visit Makkah
• It reminds us of Ibrahim and Ismāil’s great work

Ismāil’s Stand Against Idol Worship

Following His Father’s Path:

• Like Ibrahim, Ismāil taught people to worship only Allah
• When some people started worshipping idols again, Ismāil opposed them
• He reminded people that idols cannot help or harm anyone
• He continued his father’s mission of spreading Tawheed (belief in One Allah)
• He was patient when people didn’t listen

Teaching Through Example:

• Ismāil showed people how to live as good Muslims
• He was honest in all his dealings
• He kept all his promises
• He was kind to his family and neighbors
• People respected him for his good character

Persecution and Accepting Allah’s Will

Challenges Ismāil Faced:

• Some people opposed his message about worshipping only Allah
• He faced difficulties living in the desert
• He had to work hard to survive with his family
• Some people made fun of his beliefs
• He sometimes felt lonely spreading Allah’s message

How Ismāil Accepted Allah’s Will:

• He never complained about hardships
• He was grateful for Allah’s blessings like Zamzam water
• He trusted Allah’s plan for his life
• He continued doing good work even when it was difficult
• He made du’a regularly and sought Allah’s help

Lessons from Prophet Ismāil’s Life

1. Obedience to Parents: Ismāil respected and obeyed his father Ibrahim
2. Trust in Allah: He trusted Allah even when facing sacrifice
