Topic: Main Menus In Microsoft Word

Main Menus in Microsoft Word

File Menu:

  • New – start a fresh document
  • Open – find and open saved work
  • Save – keep your work safe
  • Print – make a paper copy
  • Close – shut the document

Edit Menu:

  • Undo – take back what you just did
  • Cut – remove text to use elsewhere
  • Copy – make a copy of text
  • Paste – put copied text in new place
  • Find – search for specific words

View Menu:

  • Normal – regular writing view
  • Print Preview – see how it will look printed
  • Zoom – make text bigger or smaller
  • Toolbars – show or hide button rows

Insert Menu:

  • Picture – add photos to your document
  • Table – make rows and columns
  • Page Numbers – add numbers to pages
  • Date and Time – add today’s date

Format Menu:

  • Font – change how letters look
  • Bold, Italic – make text thick or slanted
  • Bullets – make lists with dots
  • Paragraph – change spacing between lines
