General Purpose Computers:
What are General Purpose Computers? General purpose computers are designed to do many different kinds of tasks. They can be programmed to solve various types of problems.
Examples:

- Desktop computers: Used in homes, schools, offices
- Laptops: Portable computers for various tasks
- Tablets: Touch-screen computers for multiple uses
- Smartphones: Mobile computers that do many things
What They Can Do:
- Education: Learning games, research, typing
- Communication: Email, video calls, social media
- Entertainment: Games, videos, music
- Work: Documents, spreadsheets, presentations
Special Purpose Computers:
What are Special Purpose Computers? Special purpose computers are designed to do only one specific task or a limited number of related tasks very well.
Examples:
- ATM machines: Only for banking transactions
- Traffic light controllers: Only control traffic signals
- Video game consoles: Mainly for playing games
- Digital cameras: Mainly for taking pictures
Comparison:
- General Purpose: Can do many tasks, flexible
- Special Purpose: Very good at one specific task
