Introduction:

Today we will review all the important computer knowledge we have learned this term. Let us see how much you remember about computers and how to use them safely!

Lesson Content:

COMPUTER BOOTING REVISION:

Types of Booting:

  • Cold Booting: Starting computer when it is completely off
  • Warm Booting: Restarting computer when it is already on

Cold Booting Steps:

  1. Check power connection
  2. Press power button once
  3. Wait for lights and sounds
  4. Watch loading messages
  5. Desktop appears – ready to use

Warm Booting Steps:

  1. Save your work first
  2. Click on restart option
  3. Confirm restart choice
  4. Wait for automatic restart
  5. Desktop returns when ready

DESKTOP COMPONENTS REVISION:

Main Desktop Parts:

  • Start Menu: Opens programs and shutdown options
  • Taskbar: Shows running programs and system info
  • Desktop Background: Picture or color behind everything
  • Icons: Small pictures representing programs
  • Recycle Bin: Holds deleted files temporarily

Safe Desktop Use:

  • Look before clicking
  • Double-click to open programs
  • Ask for help when confused
  • Do not delete unknown icons

COMPUTER ROOM SAFETY REVISION:

Personal Safety:

  • Walk slowly in computer room
  • Sit properly with feet on floor
  • Take breaks to rest eyes
  • Keep good posture

Computer Safety:

  • Wash and dry hands before use
  • Press keys gently
  • No food or drinks near computers
  • Report problems to teacher immediately

PERSONALIZING COMPUTER REVISION:

Ways to Personalize:

  • Wallpaper: Background picture or color
  • Screensaver: Moving pictures when not in use
  • Themes: Overall color scheme and style
  • Time/Date: Correct time and date display
