- Pawpaw (papaya)

Methods of Preserving Fruits:
- Refrigeration
- Keep fruits cold to slow down spoiling
- Best for short-term storage
- Drying
- Remove water from fruits by sun drying
- Examples: Dried tomatoes, dried banana chips
- Making Juice
- Extract liquid from fruits
- Can be stored longer than fresh fruits
- Canning
- Preserve fruits in sealed containers
- Requires special equipment
- Making Jam
- Cook fruits with sugar to make jam
- Sugar helps preserve the fruits
Steps to Make Fruit Juice:
- Select ripe, healthy fruits
- Wash fruits thoroughly
- Extract juice by squeezing or blending
- Strain to remove pulp if desired
- Add small amount of preservatives if needed
- Store in clean containers
Tips for Fruit Preservation:
- Handle fruits gently to avoid bruising
- Store different fruits separately
- Use ripe but not overripe fruits
- Keep storage area clean
