Learning Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
- List safety rules for swimming
- Know how to stay safe around water
Introduction:

Swimming is fun, but water can be dangerous if we are not careful. Let us learn important rules to keep us safe.
Lesson Content:
Important Safety Rules for Swimming:
Before Swimming:
- Adult Supervision: Never swim without a grown-up watching you
- Check the Water: Make sure the water is clean and safe
- Wear Safety Gear: Use arm bands or life jacket when learning
- Warm Up: Do simple exercises before entering water
While Swimming:
- Stay in Shallow Area: Do not go to deep water
- Hold the Edge: Always stay close to the pool side
- No Running: Walk carefully around the pool
- No Pushing: Do not push friends into water
- Listen to Instructor: Follow your teacher’s instructions
Emergency Rules:
- Call for Help: Shout loudly if you need help
- Stay Calm: Do not panic if something goes wrong
- Float on Back: If tired, float and call for help
- Know Your Limits: Get out if you feel tired
After Swimming:
- Get Out Slowly: Use the ladder or steps
- Dry Yourself: Use a clean towel
- Change Clothes: Put on dry clothes quickly
- Rest: Sit down and rest after swimming
Class Activity:
Practice calling for help and demonstrate floating position on land.
