Verses 1-3 in Arabic
Verse 1: تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ “Tabbat yada Abi Lahabin wa tabb”
Verse 2: مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ “Ma aghna ‘anhu maluhu wa ma kasab”
Verse 3: سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ “Sa-yasla naran thata lahab”
Simple Meanings
Verse 1: “May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.”
- This verse speaks about Abu Lahab, who was an enemy of Islam
- It shows that Allah does not like people who fight against His message
Verse 2: “His wealth will not benefit him, nor what he earned.”
- This teaches us that money and possessions cannot save someone who does wrong
- Only good deeds and faith in Allah matter
Verse 3: “He will burn in a Fire of blazing flame.”
- This tells us about the punishment for those who oppose Allah
- It reminds us to always choose what is right
