Topic: Attributes Of Allah (Swt)

Learning Objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Explain the meaning of following attributes of Allah: Al-Haadi (The Guide), Al-Malik (The Ruler), Al-Hakim (The Judge), Al-Basir (The All Seeing), As-Samiu (The All Hearing)
  2. Relate these names of Allah as it affects man
  3. Memorize these names of Allah with their meaning

Materials Needed

  • Chart with Arabic names and meanings
  • Picture cards for illustration
  • Audio recordings of proper pronunciation

Introduction

  • Begin with Islamic greeting: “Assalamu Alaikum”
  • Recite “Bismillahi’r-Rahmani’r-Rahim”
  • Ask pupils: “Who created everything we see around us?”
  • Explain that Allah has many beautiful names that tell us about Him

What are Allah’s Attributes?

Allah has 99 beautiful names (Asma-ul-Husna) that describe His qualities and powers. Today we will learn five important ones.

The Five Attributes

  1. Al-Haadi (الهادي) – The Guide
  • Meaning: Allah shows us the right path
  • How it affects us: Allah guides us through the Qur’an and good people
  • Example: When we pray, Allah guides our hearts to peace
  1. Al-Malik (الملك) – The Ruler
  • Meaning: Allah is the King of everything
  • How it affects us: Allah controls all things in the universe
  • Example: Allah decides when the sun rises and sets
  1. Al-Hakim (الحكيم) – The Judge
  • Meaning: Allah is the wisest judge who is always fair
  • How it affects us: Allah knows what is right and wrong
  • Example: Allah will judge all our actions fairly
  1. Al-Basir (البصير) – The All Seeing
  • Meaning: Allah sees everything, even what is hidden
  • How it affects us: Allah watches over us and protects us
  • Example: Even when we are alone, Allah can see us
  1. As-Samiu (السميع) – The All Hearing
  • Meaning: Allah hears all sounds and voices
  • How it affects us: Allah hears our prayers and calls for help
  • Example: When we make du’a, Allah hears every word
