Arabic: “And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him…” Meaning: Luqman gave wise counsel and guidance to his son.

Verse 14:

Arabic: “And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents…” Meaning: Allah commands us to be kind and respectful to our parents.

Verse 15:

Arabic: “But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them…” Meaning: While we must respect parents, we should not obey them if they ask us to worship anything other than Allah.
