Recitation and Translation
Arabic Text and Pronunciation
Verse 1: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Bismillahi’r-rahmani’r-raheem
Verse 2: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi’l-alameen
Verse 3: الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Ar-rahmani’r-raheem
Verse 4: مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ Maliki yawmi’d-deen
Verse 5: إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ Iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nasta’een
Verse 6: اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ Ihdina’s-sirata’l-mustaqeem
Verse 7: صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ Sirata’lladheena an’amta alayhim ghayri’l-maghdoobi alayhim wa la’d-dalleen
English Translation
Verse 1: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”
Verse 2: “All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds”
Verse 3: “The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”
Verse 4: “Owner of the Day of Judgment”
Verse 5: “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help”
Verse 6: “Guide us to the straight path”
Verse 7: “The path of those You have blessed, not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who have gone astray”
Simple Translation for Children
- Verse 1: I start with Allah’s name, He is kind and loving
- Verse 2: All good things come from Allah, He is the Lord of everything
