The Creation of Prophet Adam (AS)

How Allah Created Adam:

  • Allah made Adam from clay (soil and water mixed together)
  • Allah shaped the clay into the form of a man
  • Allah breathed life into Adam, and he became alive
  • Adam was the first human being and the first Prophet

Why Allah Created Adam:

  • Allah wanted to place someone special on Earth
  • Humans would be Allah’s representatives (Khalifah) on Earth
  • Adam would worship Allah and take care of the Earth
  • He would be the father of all human beings

The Test Between Adam and the Angels

Allah’s Announcement:

  • Allah told the Angels: “I am going to create Adam”
  • The Angels asked: “Will you place someone who may cause trouble?”
  • Allah said: “I know what you do not know”

The Knowledge Test:

  • Allah taught Adam the names of all things
  • Allah asked the Angels: “Tell me the names of these things”
  • The Angels said: “We only know what You have taught us”
  • Allah asked Adam to tell the names, and Adam knew them all
  • This showed that humans have special knowledge

The Command to Bow:

  • Allah commanded all Angels to bow down to Adam as a sign of respect
  • All Angels obeyed Allah’s command
  • But Iblis (Satan) refused to bow because of pride
  • Iblis was jealous and thought he was better than Adam
  • Allah punished Iblis for his disobedience

Life in Paradise

Adam in Jannah:

  • Allah placed Adam in Paradise (Jannah)
  • Later, Allah created Hawwa (Eve) to be Adam’s wife
  • They lived happily in Paradise
  • They could eat from all trees except one tree
  • Allah warned them not to eat from the forbidden tree

The Test and Mistake:

  • Iblis whispered to Adam and Hawwa
  • He told them to eat from the forbidden tree
  • They forgot Allah’s warning and ate from the tree
  • They realized their mistake and felt sorry
  • Allah forgave them but sent them to Earth
