Topic: Attributes Of Allah – (The First 15 Attributes Of Allah)

Allah has many beautiful names and perfect attributes that help us understand who He is. In the Quran, Allah says: “The most beautiful names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them” (Quran 7:180). These names and attributes tell us about Allah’s greatness, power, mercy, and wisdom. They help us to know Allah better and to worship Him properly. In this lesson, we will learn about the first 15 attributes of Allah, what they mean, and how understanding them can strengthen our faith.

Understanding Allah’s Attributes

What are Allah’s Attributes?

Attributes are qualities or characteristics that describe someone or something. Allah’s attributes describe His perfect nature. They tell us who Allah is and how He acts. Unlike human attributes, Allah’s attributes are:

  • Perfect: They have no flaws or weaknesses

How These Attributes Work Together

The Perfect Balance of Allah’s Attributes

Allah’s attributes work together in perfect harmony. For example:

  • His power (Al-Aziz) is balanced by His mercy (Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem)
  • His ability to compel (Al-Jabbar) is balanced by His forgiveness (Al-Ghaffar)
  • His kingship (Al-Malik) is perfect because of His holiness (Al-Quddus)

The Creation Sequence

Notice how the attributes about creation come in a logical order:

  1. Al-Khaliq (The Creator) – Bringing things into existence
  2. Al-Bari’ (The Maker) – Creating with perfect proportion
  3. Al-Musawwir (The Fashioner) – Giving specific forms and shapes

This shows the detailed process of Allah’s creation from initial existence to detailed design.
