LESSON CONTENT

Effects of Overdose

When someone takes too much of something, it has bad effects on the body:

Short-term Effects (What happens quickly):

1. Body Pain

• Head hurts badly
• Stomach hurts very much
• Body feels weak

2. Sickness

• Throwing up (vomiting)
• Feeling very tired
• Cannot eat or drink

3. Danger Signs

• Person cannot wake up properly
• Breathing becomes hard
• Person may faint

Long-term Effects (What happens later):

1. Body Damage

• Can hurt the stomach forever
• Can damage other body parts

2. Health Problems

• Person gets sick easily
• Body becomes very weak

How to Prevent Overdose:

• Only take what adults give you
• Never take too much of anything
• Ask adults before eating or drinking anything
