Introduction

Safety means protecting ourselves and others from getting hurt. When we do physical activities, we must follow safety rules to stay healthy and have fun without accidents.

Content

What Are Safety Rules? Safety rules are special instructions that help us avoid getting hurt during physical activities. Following these rules keeps everyone safe and happy.

  1. Safety Rules for Shooting (Throwing)

What is Shooting/Throwing? Shooting or throwing means sending a ball or object towards a target.

Safety Rules:

  • Always look where you are throwing before you throw
  • Never throw balls at people’s faces or heads
  • Make sure no one is standing in your throwing path
  • Use both hands for heavy objects
  • Only throw objects that are not too heavy for you
  • Throw softly when practicing indoors
  • Wait for your turn – don’t all throw at the same time
  • Use soft balls for practice, not hard objects
  1. Safety Rules for Heading (Using Your Head)

What is Heading? Heading means using your head to hit or direct a ball, like in football.

Safety Rules:

  • Only use very soft balls for heading practice
  • Never hit the ball too hard with your head
  • Use the front part of your forehead, not the top of your head
  • Don’t head the ball if you feel dizzy or have a headache
  • Practice heading very slowly at first
  • Never head a ball that’s coming too fast towards you
  • Stop immediately if your head hurts
  • Tell your teacher if you feel uncomfortable
  1. Safety Rules for Bending

What is Bending? Bending means making your body curved or folded at the waist or joints.

Safety Rules:

  • Always bend slowly, never quickly or suddenly
  • Keep your back as straight as possible when bending forward
  • Bend your knees when picking up things from the ground
  • Don’t bend too far – only as much as feels comfortable
  • Never twist and bend at the same time
  • If it hurts, stop bending immediately
  • Warm up your muscles before doing bending exercises
  • Don’t force your body to bend more than it wants to
  1. Safety Rules for Stretching

What is Stretching? Stretching means making your muscles longer and more flexible.

Safety Rules:

  • Always warm up your body with light movement before stretching
  • Stretch slowly and gently – never use quick, jerky movements
  • Don’t bounce while stretching – hold the position steadily
  • Breathe normally and deeply while stretching
  • Stop if you feel sharp pain – stretching should feel good
  • Hold each stretch for 10-15 seconds, then relax slowly
  • Don’t stretch muscles that are injured or sore
  • Stretch both sides of your body equally

General Safety Rules for All Movements:

  • Always listen carefully to your teacher’s instructions
  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement
  • Drink water before and after exercising
  • Stop immediately if you feel tired, dizzy, or hurt
  • Exercise on safe, clean surfaces – avoid slippery or hard ground
  • Make sure you have enough space to move without hitting others
  • Never push or bump into other children during activities

Why Safety Rules Are Important:

  • They prevent serious injuries like cuts, bruises, and broken bones
  • They help everyone enjoy exercise without fear
  • They teach us to be responsible for our own safety and others’
  • They help us learn proper techniques for lifelong fitness
  • They show respect for our bodies and our classmates
