Introduction
Last week we learned about basic body movements. Today we will learn three special ways to move: marching, jogging, and galloping. These movements help us exercise and have fun.
Content
- Marching Marching is a special way of walking with rhythm and order.
How to March:

- Stand up straight and tall like a soldier
- Lift your knees high when stepping (up to your waist)
- Swing your arms back and forth strongly
- Keep your head up and look straight ahead
- Move your left arm forward when your right foot steps
- Move your right arm forward when your left foot steps
- Count “Left, Right, Left, Right” as you march
- Keep the same rhythm like music
Benefits of Marching:
- Makes our legs strong
- Teaches us to follow rhythm
- Helps us work together as a group
- Improves our balance and coordination
- Jogging Jogging is running slowly and steadily for a longer time.

How to Jog Properly:
- Run slower than your fastest speed
- Keep your arms bent at the elbows
- Swing your arms gently back and forth
- Land on the middle part of your feet, not your heels
- Breathe through your nose and mouth
- Keep your whole body relaxed
- You should be able to talk while jogging
Benefits of Jogging:
- Makes our heart stronger
- Helps us run longer without getting tired
- Burns energy and keeps us healthy
- Can be done anywhere
- Galloping Galloping is moving like a horse by stepping and leaping.
How to Gallop:
- Choose your stronger foot to be the “leading foot”
- Step forward on your leading foot
- Bring your back foot up to meet the front foot
- Push off and leap forward slightly
- Keep the same foot leading throughout
- Move your arms like you’re holding horse reins
- Make clip-clop sounds like a horse
Benefits of Galloping:
- Develops leg strength and power
- Improves coordination between legs
- Makes exercise fun and imaginative
- Teaches rhythm and timing
Activities
- Practice marching in formation around the classroom
- Group marching with counting and music
- Demonstrate proper jogging technique in the playground
- Slow jogging practice in pairs
- Learn galloping movements step by step
- Galloping races across the field
- Combine all three movements in relay races
