Introduction
Imitation means copying exactly what someone or something else does. Today we will have fun imitating people, animals, and machines. This helps us exercise while using our imagination.
Content
What is Imitation? Imitation is copying the movements and sounds that we see and hear around us. It helps us learn, exercise, and have creative fun.
- Imitating People People do many different activities that we can copy for exercise.
Examples of People’s Actions:
- Walking: Take normal steps and make “step, step” sounds

- Clapping: Hit hands together making “clap, clap, clap” sounds

- Laughing: Make “ha, ha, ha” or “he, he, he” sounds while smiling

- Crying: Make “waa, waa” sounds while rubbing eyes with fists

- Cooking: Stir with spoon making “stir, stir” sounds
- Sweeping: Move arms back and forth making “swish, swish” sounds
- Hammering: Move arm up and down making “bang, bang” sounds
- Dancing: Move body to music with happy expressions
- Imitating Animals Animals have special ways of moving and unique sounds.
Examples of Animal Actions:
- Dog: Walk on hands and knees, bark “woof, woof, woof”
- Cat: Crawl quietly on hands and knees, meow “meow, meow”
- Elephant: Walk slowly and heavily, make trumpet sound with arm as trunk
- Bird: Flap arms like wings, chirp “tweet, tweet, chirp, chirp”
- Frog: Jump by hopping, croak “ribbit, ribbit”
- Snake: Slide on stomach, hiss “ssss, ssss”
- Monkey: Swing arms and jump around, chatter “ooh, ooh, ahh, ahh”
- Lion: Crawl proudly on hands and knees, roar “ROAR, ROAR”
- Imitating Machines Machines help us work and make special mechanical sounds.
Examples of Machine Actions:
- Car: Move forward quickly, make “vroom, vroom” engine sounds
- Train: Move in a straight line, make “choo, choo” whistle sounds
- Airplane: Stretch arms wide like wings, make “zoom, zoom” flying sounds
- Washing Machine: Shake whole body, make “whirr, whirr” spinning sounds
- Clock: Move arms like clock hands, make “tick, tock, tick, tock” sounds
- Vacuum Cleaner: Push forward and back, make “vrrrr” suction sounds
