Lesson Content:
What is Food Poisoning? Food poisoning happens when we eat bad food that has germs or harmful things in it. The bad food makes us sick.
Types of Food Poisoning:
- Bacterial poisoning: From dirty food with bad germs
- Chemical poisoning: From food mixed with dangerous chemicals
- Natural poisoning: From poisonous plants or spoiled food
Symptoms of Food Poisoning:
- Stomach pain

- Vomiting (throwing up)

- Diarrhea (loose stool)
- Fever (hot body)
- Feeling weak
- Headache

- Feeling dizzy
How Food Gets Poisoned:
- Dirty hands: Preparing food with unwashed hands

Flies and insects: Landing on food

- Spoiled food: Food that has gone bad
- Dirty water: Using contaminated water
- Expired food: Food that has passed its good date
- Poor storage: Keeping food in bad places
Effects of Food Poisoning:
- Sickness: Makes people very ill
- Missing school: Children cannot come to school
- Hospital visits: May need to see a doctor
- Weakness: Body becomes very weak
- Death: In serious cases, people can die
- Money loss: Spending money on treatment
How to Prevent Food Poisoning:
- Wash hands before eating

- Eat fresh food only
- Drink clean water

- Keep food covered
- Check expiry dates
