 MUHAMMAD’S PROPHETHOOD

Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca, Arabia, around the year 570 CE. He was known as:

  • A truthful person
  • An honest trader
  • A kind human being
  • A person everyone trusted
  • Someone special even before becoming a prophet

Early Life of Muhammad

Growing Up

  • Born in Mecca
  • Parents died when he was young
  • Raised by his grandfather, then his uncle
  • Worked as a trader
  • Known for being honest and kind
  • People called him “Al-Amin” (The Trustworthy)

The First Revelation

The Cave of Hira

  • Muhammad often went to a cave called Hira
  • He would spend time thinking and praying
  • He was 40 years old
  • One night, something amazing happened

Meeting Angel Gabriel

  • Angel Gabriel appeared to Muhammad
  • The angel brought a message from Allah
  • First words: “Read in the name of your Lord”
  • Muhammad was surprised because he could not read

Muhammad’s First Reactions

Feeling Worried

  • Muhammad was scared
  • He did not understand what was happening
  • He went to his wife Khadijah
  • Khadijah comforted and supported him
