Lesson Content:

About Suratun-Nur:

  • Chapter 24 of the Holy Quran
  • Name means “The Light”
  • Contains 64 verses
  • Revealed in Madinah (Madani Surah)
  • Teaches about social behavior and etiquette

Arabic Text and Translation:

Verse 27: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوتِكُمْ حَتَّىٰ تَسْتَأْنِسُوا وَتُسَلِّمُوا عَلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Translation: “O you who believe! Do not enter houses other than your own until you seek permission and greet their inhabitants. That is better for you, so that you may remember.”

Verse 28: فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا فِيهَا أَحَدًا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا حَتَّىٰ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِن قِيلَ لَكُمُارْجِعُوا فَارْجِعُوا ۖ هُوَ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ

Translation: “If you find no one therein, still do not enter until permission is given to you. And if you are told to go back, then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah knows what you do.”

  1. Memorize verses 27-28 of Suratun-Nur
  2. Write 3 manners we should show when visiting others
  3. Practice saying “Assalamu Alaikum” properly
