1. Meaning of the Internet:

The Internet is a global network of interconnected computers that communicate with each other to share information. It allows users to access websites, send emails, and use various online services.

2. History of the Internet:

Early Beginnings: The Internet began in the late 1960s as ARPANET, a project funded by the U.S. Department of Defense to connect different research institutions.

Expansion: In the 1980s, the Internet expanded with the development of TCP/IP protocols, which allowed different networks to connect.

The World Wide Web: In 1991, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, which made the Internet more accessible by creating a system of linked documents and websites.

Modern Internet: Today, the Internet is used worldwide for communication, education, entertainment, and more.

3. Internet Terminologies:

Website: A collection of related web pages accessible via the Internet.

Browser: A software application used to access and view websites, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

URL (Uniform Resource Locator): The address used to access a specific website or page on the Internet.

HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol): The protocol used for transferring web pages on the Internet.

ISP (Internet Service Provider): A company that provides access to the Internet, such as Airtel, MTN, or Glo.
