What is an Operating System?
An operating system (OS) is the main software that controls how a computer works. It’s like the manager of all programs.
Types of Operating Systems
Windows:

- Made by Microsoft company
- Most common on home computers
- Has a start button and desktop
- Easy to use with mouse clicks
Linux:

- Free operating system
- Used by computer experts
- Very secure and safe
- Can run on old computers
Ubuntu:

- A type of Linux
- Free for everyone to use
- Orange and purple colors
- Good for schools and learning
