Lesson Content
Day 1: Number Work (490-510)
New Number Range:
- Count from 490-510: 490, 491, 492… 500… 510
- Special attention to crossing 500: 499, 500, 501
- Order numbers from 1-510
- Write: 505 = five hundred and five
Skip Counting:
- 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10…
- 3s: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15…
- 10s: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50…
Day 2: Days of the Week
The Seven Days (in order):
- Sunday – 1st day of the week
- Monday – 2nd day of the week
- Tuesday – 3rd day of the week
- Wednesday – 4th day of the week
- Thursday – 5th day of the week
- Friday – 6th day of the week
- Saturday – 7th day of the week
Memory Song: “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday too, Wednesday, Thursday, just for you, Friday, Saturday – week complete, Seven days make the week so neat!”
Day 3: Weekdays and Weekends
Weekdays (School Days):
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- 5 days total
- Days when children go to school
- Days when parents go to work
Weekends (Rest Days):
- Saturday and Sunday
- 2 days total
- No school days
- Family time, rest, and fun
Activities on Different Days:
- Monday to Friday: Go to school, learn, do homework
- Sunday: Christians go to church, family time
- Friday: Muslims go to mosque for Jumaat prayers
- Saturday: Cleaning, market day, play time
Day 4: Using the Calendar
What is a Calendar? A calendar shows all the days, weeks, and months in a year.
Parts of a Calendar:
- Days: Individual dates (1, 2, 3… 31)
- Weeks: 7 days in a row
- Months: About 4 weeks each (January, February, March…)
- Year: 12 months together
Using Calendar for Planning:
- Birthday parties: “My birthday is on Saturday, March 15th”
- School events: “Sports day is on Friday”
- Holidays: “Christmas is on December 25th”
- Programs: Plan 3-day or 7-day activities
Day 5: Historical Events and Problem Solving
Using Calendar for History:
- Independence Day: October 1st
- Children’s Day: May 27th
- New Year’s Day: January 1st
Planning Future Activities:
- 3-day program: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
