Safety Before Playing Tennis

  • Warm up your body by stretching
  • Wear proper sports clothes and shoes
  • Check that your racket is not broken
  • Make sure the court is clean and dry
  • Remove jewelry that might hurt you

Safety During the Game

  • Stay alert and watch the ball at all times
  • Don’t run into the net
  • Wait for your turn to hit the ball
  • Call out if the ball is coming to warn others
  • Stop playing if someone gets hurt
  • Don’t swing the racket near other people
  • Stay hydrated – drink water regularly

Safety After Playing

  • Cool down by walking slowly
  • Put equipment away safely
  • Clean any cuts or scratches
  • Rest if you feel tired
  • Drink plenty of water

Tennis Court Safety Rules

  • Only authorized people on court during play
  • No food or drinks on the playing surface
  • Proper tennis shoes only (no bare feet)
  • Check for hazards like wet spots or debris
