What is First Aid?

First aid is the first help we give to someone who is hurt or sick before a doctor comes. It is like being a helper when someone needs quick care.
When Do We Give First Aid?
- When someone falls and gets hurt
- If someone cuts their finger
- When someone feels very sick
- If someone has a bad headache
- When someone burns their hand
Simple First Aid We Can Give
For Small Cuts:

- Clean the cut with water
- Put a bandage on it
- Tell an adult
For Someone Who Falls:

- Help them sit down
- Ask if they are okay
- Call for help
For Burns:

- Put the burned part in cold water
- Do not touch the burn
- Get an adult quickly
Important Rules for First Aid
- Always call an adult for help
- Be gentle and kind
- Don’t try to do what you don’t know
- Wash your hands first
