What is First Aid?

First aid is the first help we give to someone who is hurt or sick before a doctor comes. It is like being a helper when someone needs quick care.

When Do We Give First Aid?

  • When someone falls and gets hurt
  • If someone cuts their finger
  • When someone feels very sick
  • If someone has a bad headache
  • When someone burns their hand

Simple First Aid We Can Give

For Small Cuts:

 

  • Clean the cut with water
  • Put a bandage on it
  • Tell an adult

For Someone Who Falls:

  • Help them sit down
  • Ask if they are okay
  • Call for help

For Burns:

  • Put the burned part in cold water
  • Do not touch the burn
  • Get an adult quickly

Important Rules for First Aid

  • Always call an adult for help
  • Be gentle and kind
  • Don’t try to do what you don’t know
  • Wash your hands first
