What is a Constituted Authority?

Constituted authority means the people and groups who have been given power to make rules, keep peace, and make sure everyone follows the law in our country.

Examples of Constituted Authority

  • President – leads the whole country

  • Governors – lead their states

  • Local Government Chairmen – lead their local areas
  • Police – keep peace and catch criminals

  • Judges – decide when people break the law

  • Teachers – have authority in schools

  • Parents – have authority in homes

Why We Need Constituted Authority

  • Rules that everyone must follow
  • Peace in the community
  • People living together safely
  • No fighting or stealing

How Authority Maintains Law and Order:

  • Police arrest people who steal or fight
  • Judges punish those who break laws

  • Everyone knows what they can and cannot do

What are Rights?

  • Like food, shelter, education, and safety
  • Being treated fairly by everyone

What is Dignity?

  • Being respected as a human being
  • Not being insulted or embarrassed
  • Having your feelings and opinions valued

How Authority Protects Rights and Dignity:

  • Police protect people from bullies and criminals
  • Courts punish those who hurt others
  • Leaders make laws to protect children and adults
  • Everyone gets fair treatment regardless of tribe or religion

Benefits of Having Constituted Authority

  • Safety: People feel safe in their homes and schools
  • Fairness: Everyone gets equal treatment
  • Peace: No constant fighting or confusion
  • Development: Country can grow and improve
