Topic: Different Types of Jumping
Review: What is Jumping?

Jumping means pushing our body up from the ground using our legs. It makes us strong and helps us have fun.
Types of Jumps We Can Do
Jump on the Spot:

- Both feet leave the ground together
- Land back in the same place
- Keep your body straight
- Bend your knees when you land
Hop on One Foot:

- Use only one foot to jump
- Keep the other foot up
- Try left foot, then right foot
- Hold your arms out for balance
Jump Forward:

- Push off and jump ahead
- Land with both feet together
- Like a frog jumping to a lily pad
- See how far you can go
Jump Sideways:
- Jump to the left side
- Jump to the right side
- Keep both feet together
- Move like a bunny
Jumping Games
Rabbit Jumps:
- Squat down low
- Jump forward like a rabbit
- Use your arms to help balance
- Make small, quick jumps
Frog Jumps:
- Squat down with hands on ground
- Push off and jump far
- Land in squatting position
- Jump from lily pad to lily pad
Kangaroo Jumps:
- Stand tall and jump high
- Keep both feet together
- Use your arms to swing up
- Try to jump as high as possible
Jumping Exercises
Basic Jump Practice:
- Jump in place 10 times
- Hop on left foot 5 times
- Hop on right foot 5 times
- Jump forward 5 steps
Fun Jumping Patterns:
- Jump, jump, hop left
- Jump, jump, hop right
- Forward, backward, forward
- Side to side jumps
Jumping Challenges:
- Jump over a line on the ground
- Jump to touch teacher’s hand
- Jump between two ropes
- Jump and clap hands above head
Class Exercise
- Show me how to jump on the spot.
- Can you hop on your right foot 3 times?
- What animal jumps forward like we practiced?
- Practice jumping sideways left and right.
Jumping Safety Rules
- Always land on both feet when possible
- Bend your knees when you land
- Look where you are jumping
- Don’t jump on wet or slippery ground
- Rest when you feel tired
- Tell teacher if you get hurt
Jumping Fun Time
Let’s practice all our jumps:
- Start with jumping on the spot
- Try hopping on each foot
- Practice rabbit jumps across the room
- End with high kangaroo jumps
- Cool down with gentle walking
