My Life Story – By Kemi Adebayo
Chapter 1: Early Years
My name is Kemi Adebayo, and this is the story of my life so far. I was born on March 15, 2012, in Lagos State, Nigeria. I am the first child in a family of four children – I have two brothers and one sister who are all younger than me.
My earliest memory is when I was about four years old. I remember my grandmother teaching me to count using bottle tops. She was very patient with me and always said I was quite intelligent. My grandmother greatly influenced my love for learning, and I really miss her now that she has passed away.
Chapter 2: School Days
I started school at Sunshine Nursery School when I was three years old. I was so excited on my first day that I woke up very early and dressed myself. However, when my mother left me at school, I became too scared and cried for hours. The teachers were really kind and helped me feel better.
In Primary 1, I met my best friend, Funmi. We are still very close friends today. I was quite good at reading from the beginning, but mathematics was rather difficult for me. My teacher, Mrs. Ogundimu, was extremely helpful and spent extra time teaching me how to solve math problems.
Chapter 3: Growing Up
As I grew older, I became really interested in science. I loved conducting simple experiments and asking questions about how things work. My parents were so supportive and bought me science books and equipment for my birthday.
In Primary 4, I won my first academic prize for excellence in Basic Science. I was absolutely thrilled! This achievement greatly motivated me to work even harder in all my subjects.
Chapter 4: Hobbies and Interests
I am quite active and enjoy many activities. I love reading adventure stories – I find them so exciting that I sometimes read under my blanket with a torch at night. I am also very good at drawing and painting. My art teacher says I am extremely creative.
I greatly enjoy helping my mother in the kitchen. She has taught me to cook rice, beans, and even jollof rice. Cooking is really relaxing for me, and I hope to learn more recipes.
Chapter 5: Dreams and Aspirations
I am so determined to become a doctor when I grow up. I want to help sick people and make them feel better. I know medical school will be quite challenging, but I am really willing to work hard.
My parents are very supportive of my dreams. They always tell me that with hard work and determination, I can achieve anything. I am extremely grateful for their love and support.
This is my story so far. I am only twelve years old, but I have already learned so much about life, friendship, and following my dreams.
