What is Empathy?

Empathy means understanding how other people feel and caring about their feelings. It is like putting yourself in someone else’s shoes to know what they are going through.
Understanding Empathy
When you have empathy, you:
- Feel sad when your friend is sad
- Feel happy when others are happy
- Understand why someone is crying or upset
- Care about how your actions affect others
- Want to help people who are hurting
Examples of Empathy
At School
