What is Confidentiality?

Confidentiality means keeping secrets and private information safe. It means not telling others things that should be kept private or secret.

Understanding Confidentiality

Confidentiality helps us:

  • Protect personal and family information
  • Keep secrets that others trust us with
  • Stay safe from strangers who might harm us
  • Maintain trust with friends and family

What Information Should Be Kept Confidential?

Personal Information

How to Practice Confidentiality

With Strangers

With Friends

  • Keep secrets your friends tell you
  • Don’t gossip about your friends’ private matters
