Topic: Erasing Techniques
Erasing techniquesÂ
What is erasing? Erasing is the act of rubbing out or removing writing or marks. Mistakes happen all the time. And that’s ok. Everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is to learn from them and erase them as soon as possible as you spot them. The erasing technique is a means of erasing an error while typing.Â
Method of erasing in typewriterÂ
- Use the alignment scale to set the lines of typingÂ
- Erase the error by applying a little pressure and blowing pencil crumbs away as you cleanÂ
- Press the paper lightly against the cylinder to prevent the paper from slipping while erasingÂ

Double typing Tipp ex-Red liquid fluid
- Eraser; to use an eraser move the carriage to the left or right to prevent dust from falling into the type basket or use it gently to avoid making a hole in the paper return the paper to the typing line and type the current word or letters.Â
- Correction liquid; correction liquid or fluid is used to rub the thin liquid across the mistake and allow it to dry. After this return the roller to the line and type in the correct text.Â
Tip ex is an example of correction fluid.Â
- Correction paper: this is a mechanical paper treated with fluid and power. Place the coated part of the paper on the affected characters. The type correction on the correction paper and remove the paper from the machine.
 Demonstration of erasing using cardboard paperÂ
- Insert a card paper between the top copy and the next copy to prevent the carbon used from staining the carbon copy when erasing the top copyÂ
- Erase the mistake that appeared on the carbon copyÂ
- If more than one carbon copy is used carry out the erasure following steps 3 and 4 above until the copies are erased
