Topic: Emergency Situations That Could Be Reported

What is an Emergency? 

An emergency is a sudden, serious situation that needs immediate help to prevent harm, save lives, or stop damage. It cannot wait – help is needed NOW!

Signs of an Emergency:

  • Someone’s life is in danger
  • Someone is badly hurt
  • A crime is happening
  • Property might be destroyed
  • Quick action is needed

Emergency Situations to Report

  • ROBBERY 

What it is: When thieves take things by force Report when you see:

  • Armed robbers attacking
  • Thieves breaking into houses
  • People being robbed
  • Shops being looted

 

  • ACCIDENT 

What it is: Unexpected event causing injury Report when you see:

  • Car crashes
  • Someone falling from height
  • Motorcycle accidents
  • People seriously hurt
  • Hit and run cases

FIRE OUTBREAK 

What it is: Uncontrolled fire Report when you see:

  • Buildings on fire
  • Bush burning dangerously
  • Smoke from houses
  • Electrical fires
  • People trapped in fire

KIDNAPPING 

What it is: Taking someone by force Report when you see:

  • Someone forced into a car
  • Children being taken
  • People calling for help
  • Suspicious van taking people
  • Missing persons

 

  • FLOOD 

What it is: Too much water in wrong places Report when you see:

  • Water entering houses
  • Roads covered with water
  • People trapped by water
  • Bridges about to collapse
  • Rising water levels

 

  • SEXUAL ABUSE 

What it is: When someone touches or hurts private parts Report when:

  • An adult touches you wrongly
  • Someone forces inappropriate touching
  • You see this happening to others
  • Someone threatens you about it. Tell a trusted adult immediately!

Other Emergencies to Report:

  • Building collapse
  • Gas leakage
  • Poisoning
  • Armed violence
  • Bomb threats

When NOT an Emergency:

  • Small cuts or bruises
  • Minor arguments
  • Lost toys
  • Non-serious illness

How to Report:

  1. Stay safe first
  2. Call emergency numbers (112)
  3. Tell trusted adults
  4. Give clear information
  5. Don’t put yourself in danger

Remember: If you’re not sure if it’s an emergency, report it anyway. Better safe than sorry!
