Topic: Comparison & Ordering Numbers: 1-50

ORDERING NUMBERS: 1-50

What is Ordering? Ordering means arranging numbers from smallest to largest or largest to smallest.

Example: Smallest to Largest: 5, 12, 28, 43 Largest to Smallest: 43, 28, 12, 5

Exercise 13: Order from smallest to largest:

  1. 15, 3, 28, 7 → ___, ___, ___, ___
  2. 42, 18, 5, 31 → ___, ___, ___, ___
  3. 26, 9, 47, 13 → ___, ___, ___, ___

Exercise 14: Order from largest to smallest:

  1. 8, 35, 16, 41 → ___, ___, ___, ___
  2. 29, 6, 44, 17 → ___, ___, ___, ___
  3. 33, 11, 48, 22 → ___, ___, ___, ___

Exercise 15: Fill in the missing numbers in order:

  1. 23, 24, ___, 26, ___
  2. 37, ___, 39, ___, 41
  3. 12, 13, ___, ___, 16

Exercise 16: Which number comes between?

  1. 25 ___ 27 (26)
  2. 38 ___ 40 (39)
  3. 14 ___ 16 (15)
  4. 49 ___ 51 (50)

5. COMPARING NUMBERS: 1-50

Comparison Signs:

  • < means “less than” (smaller)
  • > means “greater than” (bigger)
  • = means “equal to” (same)

Examples:

  • 15 < 23 (15 is less than 23)
  • 38 > 21 (38 is greater than 21)
  • 17 = 17 (17 is equal to 17)
