Introduction
Jesus not only prayed, but He also taught His friends and us how to pray. Today we will learn the special prayer that Jesus taught us called “The Lord’s Prayer.”

How Jesus Taught Us to Pray
- Jesus taught us to pray with simple words
- Jesus taught us to pray from our hearts
- Jesus taught us to pray for others, not just ourselves
- Jesus gave us a special prayer to say
The Lord’s Prayer (Simple Version for Children) “Our Father in Heaven, Your name is holy. Your kingdom come. Give us food for today. Forgive us when we do wrong, As we forgive others. Keep us safe from bad things. Amen.”
What the Lord’s Prayer Means
- Our Father: God is like our loving daddy
- Give us food: We ask God to take care of us
- Forgive us: We say sorry for wrong things
- Keep us safe: We ask God to protect us
Jesus’ Teaching About Prayer
- Pray in a quiet place
- Don’t use too many big words
- Really mean what you say
- Pray for others too
- Trust that God hears you
