LESSON CONTENT

Examples of Risk Factors in Food

Here are examples of things that make food dangerous:

1. DIRTY CONDITIONS

• Food left on the floor
• Food with sand and dust
• Food touched by dirty hands
• Food near the toilet or garbage

2. SPOILED FOOD

• Bread with green or black spots (mold)
• Milk that smells sour
• Meat that smells bad
• Fruits that are too soft and rotten

3. INSECTS AND PESTS

• Flies sitting on food
• Cockroaches crawling on food
• Ants eating the food
• Rats biting the food

4. UNSAFE STORAGE

• Food left in the sun for too long
• Food without cover
• Food mixed with chemicals
• Food stored in dirty containers

5. BAD PREPARATION

• Food cooked with dirty water
• Food not cooked well
• Food prepared by sick people
